Tired of watching the best riders float effortlessly through powder while you battle for control? Frustrated by a plateau in your off-piste skills despite years of riding? Off-piste riding is a different discipline, and the gap between piste and powder is bigger than most riders expect. This intensive coaching course is designed to close that gap fast.
You'll ride real off-piste terrain every day in a small group, with a coach who analyses your technique, identifies your specific limiting factors and rebuilds your approach from the ground up — through a logical, progressive sequence of skills, with video analysis built into every day.
The goal by the end of the week: smoother powder turns, confidence in variable snow and in your line choices, and technique that holds up all season long.

Stance, weight distribution and turn shape in powder, crud, steep pitches and variable snow — the mechanics that make off-piste easy.
Key runs filmed and broken down frame by frame with expert interpretation. See your riding, fix what's holding you back.
A small group, so your riding actually gets coached. Real attention, real feedback, real progression.
Read the slope from above, choose your line and manage your speed as the snow changes. Pure technique, with no avalanche terrain.
We are not locked into one mountain. We pick the location to suit the conditions and what the group wants, across Saalbach, Fieberbrunn and Kaprun.
Where possible, test purpose-built freeride and powder skis from DOWN and Original+ on real off-piste terrain.

Black Rider, New to Off-Piste (F1) ← This Course
Comfortable on all groomed terrain but struggling when conditions get challenging, and ready to access more of the mountain than just the groomed runs — with a coach and structured, progressive coaching.
Freerider (F2) ← This Course
You've tasted untracked snow and already ride some off-piste, but lack the technique or the confidence in variable conditions. This week fills those gaps systematically.
Blue or Red Rider — Not Yet
A solid parallel turn on all piste terrain is the minimum entry point. If you're not there yet, our on-piste technique camps will get you ready.
Off-Piste Technique
- Powder stance — weight forward, balanced, athletic
- Turn initiation and shape in deep and variable snow
- Terrain-specific technique for powder, crud and steep pitches
- Speed management on steeper off-piste gradient
- The mental approach that separates good riders from great ones
Video Coaching
- Key runs filmed every day
- Frame-by-frame breakdown with the coach
- See your riding and what is holding you back
- Personal progression notes and season plan
Terrain & Line Choice
- Reading a slope and the snow from above
- Line choice and turn placement
- Adapting technique as the snow changes
- Spacing and positioning in a group
Find Your Baseline
We start with warm-up runs and a look at each rider's basics, then move to the first off-piste runs in friendly terrain. The coach films everyone and establishes each rider's baseline and the one or two things that will make the biggest difference this week.
The Mechanics of Powder Riding
Today is technique-focused — moving from survival to control in deep and variable snow. The coach works on each rider's stance, weight distribution and turn initiation. Structured run repetitions in a chosen terrain section, with filming throughout for evening review.
Read the Terrain, Choose Your Line
A full off-piste day focused on applying technique to changing snow and terrain. The coach shows how to read a slope from above, pick a line and adapt your turn to crud, wind-affected and tracked snow. Line choices are talked through together, so every rider understands why.
Steeper, Deeper, In Control
By Day 4 technique and line choice are clicking. The coach steps back slightly and lets riders lead more of the route-finding, offering feedback rather than direction. Terrain gets steeper and more demanding, as far as the conditions and the group allow. This is the day most riders break through to a new level of confidence.
Your Lines, Your Riding
The final day puts everything together. The coach picks the best off-piste routes the conditions allow; riders read the terrain and choose their own lines, with the coach alongside. The goal is to leave riding your own lines with confidence. The afternoon wraps up with a personal progression debrief and a group lunch.
Off-Piste Done
Right

Safety First. Always.
Every Snowbusters off-piste course is led by experienced professional coaches who know these Austrian resorts inside out. Conditions are assessed every morning, we stay out of avalanche terrain, and the group is never pushed beyond what the conditions and its level allow.
This is a pure technique course: avalanche training is not part of it. Terrain gets more demanding as the week goes on, but only as far as the conditions and the group allow.
Insurance is not included — always ride covered. We recommend Austrian Alpine Club (Alpenverein) insurance, valid across all Alpine countries.
