More about this trip
DEEP & STEEP Austria: Freeride Touring in Saalbach-Hinterglamm-Fieberbrunn
DEEP & STEEP Austria isn’t your average snow trip—it’s the ultimate fusion of uphill exploration and downhill thrills. Each day combines strategic skinning routes with mind-blowing descents across the legendary terrain of Saalbach-Hinterglamm and Fieberbrunn.
You’ll use lightweight touring equipment to access pristine powder fields, steep chutes, and natural features that remain untouched by the resort crowds. Our carefully planned routes maximize descent time while minimizing unnecessary climbing—we’re here to shred powder, not just break trail!
Each morning, your UIAGM guide analyzes conditions to target the day’s best snow and terrain. From the imposing Schusterkogel (2207m) and the legendary Wildseeloder with its 48° slopes to the massive 2000m vertical descent from Kitzsteinhorn to Niedernsill—every day delivers new terrain and fresh challenges.
The 5-day progression builds your backcountry skills while steadily accessing more technical and rewarding terrain. By week’s end, you’ll be reading the mountain like a pro, making smart terrain choices, and riding lines you never thought possible.
