Ski touring is the key that will unlock the door to unknown places and offer you skiing experiences that you have never known before. But looking through this door is one thing, stepping through it is another. And that's exactly what our ski touring course for beginners offers.

During the intensive three-day ski touring course, we will introduce you to the basic skills and knowledge you will need and use out there. We will teach you the correct techniques of movement on touring skis when climbing, including the correct mounting and use of climbing skins. Together we train how to perform the so-called "kick turns", how to safely traverse and slide down steep slopes. You will practically try out various alpine equipment, you will gain basic avalanche knowledge, as well as the principles of movement in open terrain. You will also practice first aid and planning alpine tours. All this in the relatively safe environment of the Czech mountains.

In the evening we will have lectures where you will learn everything you need to know about ski touring equipment, its division from racing ski touring, through "hobby" and "fitness touring", to "free touring". We will take a closer look at the individual types of ski touring and freeride skis and boots, types of climbing skins, poles.

The course will include both a theoretical lecture on avalanches and especially practical training in search and rescue. We will introduce you to basic and superstructure avalanche equipment (avalanche finder, probe, shovel, avalanche backpack…, etc.). We will talk about the stability of snow layers and show ways to test them in the field.

In the first aid course, in addition to the basics of resuscitation, we will focus specifically on the issue of hypothermia and frostbite.
