Day 1: Zell am See
Start your Austrian adventure at the picturesque Zell am See, where alpine charm meets world-class skiing. This stunning resort sits between the crystalline Lake Zell and the majestic Schmittenhöhe mountain, offering breathtaking panoramic views from every angle. With 77 kilometers of diverse pistes ranging from gentle beginner slopes to challenging black runs, Zell am See caters to all skill levels. The resort’s state-of-the-art lift system ensures minimal waiting times. At the same time, its charming medieval town center provides a perfect après-ski atmosphere with traditional Austrian restaurants and cozy bars where you can relax after your first exhilarating day on the slopes.
Day 2: Saalbach
On your second day, experience the expansive Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, one of Austria’s largest interconnected ski areas. Saalbach offers an impressive 270 kilometers of slopes across a vast ski network with modern infrastructure, including 70 lifts and cable cars. Famous for its perfectly groomed runs and exceptional snow reliability, Saalbach is a paradise for intermediate skiers with its abundance of red runs, though beginners and experts will find plenty to enjoy as well. The resort is equally renowned for its lively après-ski scene, with the pedestrianized village center buzzing with energy as skiers and snowboarders gather to share stories of their day’s adventures on the mountain.
Day 3: Hochkönig
Discover the hidden gem of Austria’s ski scene at Hochkönig, part of the Ski Amadé network. This resort combines three picturesque villages—Maria Alm, Dienten, and Mühlbach—into one remarkable ski experience with 120 kilometers of interconnected slopes. Hochkönig’s unique selling point is its “König’s Tour,” a scenic circuit that allows skiers to traverse the entire resort area in a single day, enjoying stunning views of the imposing Hochkönig massif throughout the journey. The resort maintains its authentic Alpine character with traditional mountain huts serving regional specialties, giving visitors a taste of genuine Austrian hospitality while enjoying less crowded slopes than some of the country’s more famous destinations.
Day 4: Kitzbühel
Prepare for an unforgettable day at the legendary Kitzbühel, home to the world’s most famous downhill ski race—the Hahnenkamm. This sophisticated resort combines medieval charm with skiing heritage, boasting 233 kilometers of meticulously maintained pistes across several interconnected mountains. Kitzbühel’s varied terrain offers something for everyone, from gentle nursery slopes to the hair-raising Streif downhill course that challenges even professional skiers. Beyond the exceptional skiing, Kitzbühel enchants visitors with its colorful, car-free town center featuring frescoed buildings, exclusive boutiques, and gourmet restaurants. The resort’s blend of tradition, luxury, and world-class skiing facilities makes it the crown jewel of Tyrolean ski destinations.
Day 5: Kitzsteinhorn
Conclude your Austrian ski tour with an ascent to Kitzsteinhorn, Salzburg’s only glacier ski resort, offering snow-sure conditions year-round up to an altitude of 3,029 meters. This high-alpine winter playground provides 41 kilometers of pristine slopes with spectacular panoramic views extending across Austria’s highest peaks. The Kitzsteinhorn experience goes beyond skiing with attractions like the “Gipfelwelt 3000” summit station featuring the National Park Gallery, Cinema 3000, and viewing platforms offering breathtaking vistas of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Advanced riders will appreciate the resort’s five snowparks and the natural half-pipes of the Superpipe, while powder enthusiasts can explore marked freeride routes with deep, untouched snow even late in the season.
